Here are some of our favourite places to eat (in no particular order). Always book as far ahead as possible as everywhere gets surprisingly busy.
The Stapleton Arms: This is our nearest pub and is a great place to include as a pit stop on a walk for a drink and bag of crisps or for lunch or supper. The kitchen serves high quality traditional country pub food and is good for families. (About 25 minutes walk across the fields or 5 mins drive)
The Clockspire: A high end restaurant in a beautiful building. The sort of place you book for a special occasion. (14 mins drive)
At The Chapel: On Bruton High Street, an old chapel converted into a stunning but relaxed restaurant. Fantastic food to eat in and takeaway. Great bakery and coffee. Good for families too. (22 mins drive)
Roth bar and grill: On the outskirts of Bruton adjacent to the Hauser and Wirth gallery, Piet Oudolf Garden and Durslade farm shop. Wonderful food in a relaxed setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Great to combine lunch with a stroll around the incredible garden or a visit to the gallery. Also, good for families.(19 mins drive)

The Newt in Somerset: The restaurant, ice cream parlour and cafe at The Newt are all outstanding. The gardens are also stunning. Just to note that you do need to pay the entrance fee for the garden in order to access the restaurant, shop, cafe etc. Good for families. (21 mins drive)
Osip: This is a sophisticated Michelin start restaurant based in Bruton with a set menu. Not suitable for most children’s tastes. (23 mins drive)
The Old Pharmacy: Also based in Bruton this wine bar, Bistro and Grocery store serves delicious small plates, probably not to most children’s tastes. (23 mins drive)
