The pool is open from April to October

The Garden: please enjoy the garden, woods and meadows and respect nature at all times. Please do not pick flowers, grasses or wild flowers or chop down branches - there are plenty of branches scattered around for den building.

Trampoline: please zip up the door to the trampoline when you are bouncing for safety reasons.

Football goals: these are set up on the lawn but feel free to move them to one side if you are not football fans!

Croquet: there is a croquet set in the play shed which works well (apart from the odd bump) on the main lawn. Please do put it away at night or if it’s raining.

Woodland play area: rope swing, log obstacle course, money rings and monkey bars, please supervise small children.

Swimming pool: this is an outdoor pool, 10m x 5m, heated using an air source heat pump - it may be a bit chilly in April and October and closed from November to the end of March.

  • Children must be supervised at all times

  • The pool is constant depth 1.4 metres so no diving as there is no deep end

  • Pool cover switch and lights on a post by the pool - we will leave the key for the cover, just pop the the key on and twist to open or close. Please twist gently as the key is plastic and easily damaged against the metal.

  • There is a pool cover pump which must be placed on the cover if it is going to rain

  • Do not operate pool cover if there is any water sitting on top of it as the cover will not withstand the weight and will break, you will need to make sure the water is removed using the pool cover pump - just slide it over the watery spot.

  • The pool cover pump works automatically to remove water from the cover but if there has been a lot of rain it might need to be placed near the back edge of the cover when the cover has been 90% opened

  • Do not use any glass or china plates up by the pool

Outdoor Cooking: there are two spots for outdoor cooking, one in front of the play shed and one near the pond, there are log seats, log table, dug out fire pits and grills. Please help yourself to logs and use the wheel barrow to transport them.

Local Walks: there is an incredible network of footpaths in the local area. You can find a footpath map here:

https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/countryside-coast-parks/rights-of-way/rights-of-way-map-where-to-walk-ride-or-cycle

We can recommend the following walks:

A short and very local walk - walk down the footpath beside the front gate, down through the woods to the end of the path, left along the road, then left up the next footpath and loop back round through the fields. (approx 15 mins)

Walk up to the Church - All Saints Kington Magna, this is a nice short walk with an amazing view - into the village and turn left up the hill to the church, walk down through the church yard - there is a footpath to the left hand side coming out of the gate - walk to the bottom of the hill then turn right through past a couple of cottages through a footpath alley, turn right at the bottom and loop back round. (approx 25 mins)

Walk to the Stapleton Arms pub in Buckhorn Weston - down the footpath by our gate and turn right across the fields - follow the footpath map. (approx 25mins)

Walk from/to Cucklington - this is a long walk through beautiful landscape, past some stunning houses to the phenomenal view at Cucklington. (approx 2.5 hours there and back)

Tennis: can be booked at Marshall Tennis club without having to be a member (approx 10 mins drive)
